Jane Austen to be the face of Britain’s new ‘tenner’!!

LOOK at this! The Bank of England has put novelist Jane Austen on a ‘tenner,’ a £10 banknote. This special polymer ‘tenner’ was unveiled today, the 200th anniversary of the author’s death.

Austen is the first female writer to be featured on a banknote!

    Great. Probably, this is a hint at the ten pounds that had to be paid for the first attempt to publish the “Northanger Abbey.” Although, given Austen’s contribution to literature, the value of the banknote should be much greater. But still it’s very cool! Thank you, Pee-wee!
