This is SO cool! These are pages from a 1968 issue of TV Guide showing the voice actors behind some of the Peanuts gang.

There’s Charlie Brown, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Snoopy and Linus! Four out of five of them are actually children!

I have a friend who voiced Lucy for “It’s Arbor Day, Charlie Brown.” And her brother voiced either Linus or Charlie–can’t remember which. They got the gig because their dad was in show business–the announcer for the Newlywed Game.

The most interesting often remains behind the scenes. I do not want to belittle the work of animation artists, but in this case it seems that film not need drawn characters. Almost…
    It’s wonderful, thanks, Pee-wee!

These were not the original actors from “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. Peter Robbins and Chris Shea were the only keepers from the 1965 classic. OH…and Bill Melendez will ALWAYS be Snoopy to me. Sally Dryer actually played Violet in the Halloween special, while a child actor named Tracy Stratford was the original Lucy Van Pelt. “My all-time favorite Lucy was Pamelyn Ferdin, who played her in “A Boy Named Charlie Brown” and two tv specials. Great to see this old article though….thanks, Pee Wee.
