This is Mona Lisa, a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo.
It may well be Leonardo da Vinci’s most recognizable work. It hangs at the Louvre in Paris, France.
This is artist Jane Perkins reinterpretation of Mona Lisa, in BUTTONS and found PLASTIC pieces.
It’s part of her “Plastic Classics” collection of works.
Looking closely… I spy doll parts, shells, and lots of BUTTONS!
If you’re curious, she’s recreated many other famous works of art in junk. Take a look!
Happy National Button Day!!
