In 1959, MAD Magazine cartoonist Jack Davis illustrated a set of HI-LARIOUS Topps bubble gum cards called “Funny Valentines.” On one side was a seemingly sweet Valentine’s Day message but when you flipped it over, you got a real ZINGER!!

Contradictions add astringency and freshness to the senses…There is no rose without thorns, there is no light without shadow, there is no love without… flip side, etc. Thanks for sharing, Pee-wee, this is great graphics!
Happy Valentine’s Day! (although who knows what I really want to say by that ?!)
